Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I think they are so important for building resilience, discipline, focus, dedication, and self confidence that carries over into anything and everything you do in life. I played DI Field Hockey for the University at Albany and continued to play field hockey until I was 34 on Big Apple Hockey Club. I also played basketball and softball. I played semi professional slow pitch softball for a few years in my early 30s and still play in leagues and tournaments regularly. I dabble in golf and  hope to play more in the future. I am also interested in picking up tennis because racquet sports add years to your life and I just want to play all day! The human body is meant to move, so even if you don’t play sports regularly “Exercise is a Necessity”. I have carried my passion for sports over to the fitness industry. I love what I do. I truly enjoy helping, guiding, motivating, and supporting others on their fitness journey. I used to train like an athlete, but now into my 40s my focus has shifted to “Training for Life”. Looking at the future and training for longevity. Training to build muscle mass, bone density, and strength is the most important thing we can do as we age. I enjoy working with people of all ages and abilities. I believe you should challenge yourself in a new way, every day. There is no better feeling than being strong.

I think our mind is our biggest enemy. You are what you think about. Exercise is hard. Doing hard things helps build your self-confidence which in turn makes you physically and mentally stronger. You are stacking small wins every time you work out. If you think you can’t do it, you won’t. If you believe you can, then you will. Humans are biologically programmed to seek comfort, but we learn the most about ourselves and grow when we are uncomfortable. Exercise is all about making yourself a little uncomfortable to grow. That’s why I believe exercise is so profound and important. I think humans should never give up or quit. It’s ok to fail. We all fail. Failure is necessary to learn and grow. But if you give up and quit you are only guaranteed to lose. So you always have to get back up and keep moving forward. Take action. I can be your support in this endeavor.

I am very passionate about being the best Personal Trainer I can be and helping and motivating as many people as I can. Every day I am happy and excited to work with others to help them get healthy, strong, and fit. I never dread going to work. I have always enjoyed serving and helping others. It is very rewarding and fulfilling. Prior to becoming a professional personal trainer 15 years ago, I worked in restaurants and with children since the age of 13. I went to school to be an art teacher early on as well. My background in combination with sports led me to the fitness industry and I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else.  My motivation is truly believing that “Exercise is the Answer” to all of the major health issues/concerns we have today. Mental health, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and obesity, can all be prevented or combated with exercise. I am here to help you no matter where you are in your fitness journey.
